I am a machine learning scientist at Amazon’s demand forecasting team since December 2016. In this blog, I share my interest in machine learning, signal processing, deep learning and neuroimaging.
Before Amazon, I was a Data Scientist in an investment bank which made me realize that finance is just not for me.
I was a postdoctoral research scientist in Laboratory of Intelligent Imaging and Neural Computing in Columbia University until Fall 2015 upon finishing my doctoral studies.
I finished my Ph.D in Brain Imaging Laboratory in University of Southern California under the supervision of Prof. Richard M Leahy. In my Ph.D studies, I explored mathematical approaches to identifying brain networks. We developed signal processing techniques to understand dynamics of the brain. Before coming to USC, I received my BS and MS degrees from the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
